IBS conducts its convocation for 2014-16 batch

PUNE: IBS, a B-School in Pune and constituent of the ICFAI group, held its convocation for the batch of 2014- 2016 on recently. The institute surpassed its previous year's admissions by 70% with 426 students joining the current batch. "The current graduating class consisting of 252 graduates were awarded PGPM certificate by Lt Gen Ashok Kapur. Radhika Wadhiwas was awarded the gold medal and a cash prize of Rs 10, 000 for her meritorious performance. The institute has achieved an outstanding placement record of 97% this year, which includes 15 international placements.

Sudarshan Jain, Managing Director, Abbot Healthcare Pvt Ltd and Lt Gen Ashok Kapoor (Retd) PVSM VSM, former chief of staff Southern Command were present for the convocation.Addressing the students on the convocation theme "Challenges in VUCA World", Sudarshan Jain, reminded the students that it was a day of reflection and review. "Follow the four principles "stay hungry" to constantly seek and learn, "stay foolish" to constantly innovate and challenge, "stay healthy" to be fit and "stay responsible" to have courage to be ethical," advised Jain.In his welcome address, Prof GS Narsing Rao, Director IBS, said, "The focus of the pedagogy is directed towards enhancing value systems and skill sets to prepare young graduates to meet the challenges of corporate life. The institute has achieved an outstanding placement record of 97% this year, which includes 15 international placements. This shows a growing acceptance of the strong academic model by the student community."The current graduating class consisting of 252 graduates were awarded PGPM certificate by Lt Gen Ashok Kapur. While complementing the institute for its efforts and students on their graduation, Kapur advised the students to draw lessons from the lives of Late Steve Jobs and Lee Iacocca. He asked students to build their lives on 3 E's "Experience, Experimentation and Expectations" while ensuring values systems ingrained in them by their parents and teachers. Radhika Wadhiwas was awarded the gold medal and a cash prize of Rs 10, 000 for her meritorious performance.
