HC grants interim relief for a week to DSK, wife

Pune: The Bombay high court on Friday granted a week's interim relief to builder DS Kulkarni, also known as DSK, and his wife, Hemanti, in a cheating case lodged here by one of the depositors of the DSK group.According to the court order, the builder and his wife will be required to furnish a surety of Rs1 lakh each to secure their release in the event of arrest.

Pune: The Bombay high court on Friday granted a week's interim relief to builder DS Kulkarni, also known as DSK, and his wife, Hemanti, in a cheating case lodged here by one of the depositors of the DSK group.According to the court order, the builder and his wife will be required to furnish a surety of Rs1 lakh each to secure their release in the event of arrest. The matter is due for the next hearing on November 17.On November 8, a special court for Maharashtra Protection of Interests of Depositors (MPID) Act in Pune had rejected the pre-arrest bail plea of Kulkarni and his wife and their appeal for continuation of interim protection against any coercive action by the city police.The couple moved the high court filing a second anticipatory bail plea on Thursday.The high court's additional public prosecutor, Vinod Chate, told TOI, "The matter was listed today (Friday) for the first hearing before the bench of Justice AS Gadkari. The bench has given a week's time to us to take detail instructions (from police) for the final arguments on November 17.
