RAIPUR: In yet another shocking case of crime against chidren, the parents of a seven-year-old girl have alleged sexual assault on their daughter in schoool.Parents of the minor girl told police that on the day of Akshay Tritiya on Wednesday, it was her first day at Campion School located on Vidhan Sabha road. While changing her clothes after she returned from school, the girl's mother noticed blood on her internal body parts while her undergarments were missing.Although, the Class I student couldn't identify the accused, yet she said that a 'bhaiya' in uniform took her to washroom and molested her. With no trace of alleged accused, police have lodged an FIR under Sections of IPC and POCSO Act and started examining CCTV footages of the school. When contacted, Raipur superintendent of police Amresh Mishra said, “Being a sensitive issue, an FIR was lodged immediately and initial medical examination of the girl was done while there were few more tests pending, scheduled for Saturday. The primary reports said there were no external injuries or indication of rape. The school's CCTV footages have been examined and all staff members were also questioned. The girl’s statement was also recorded before Child Welfare committee but it’s contradicting her earlier version. The primary probe hasn’t given any evidence to support rape or attempt, however, police is investigating other angles thoroughly.”According to police, the Class I girl told her parents that a ‘bhaiya’ in school uniform took her to washroom and touched her inappropriately. Her undergarments were left in school. When parents contacted school, they were allegedly rebuked denying that any such thing could happen on school premises. The parents were told by the school that the girl's undergarments were burnt as they were found inside a dustbin.Parents accused the school of negligence and not keeping them informed. However, while defending itself, the school management denied any such incident at its premises and assured of strict action if police find any proof. The team of Commission for protection of Child Rights immediately rushed to the school and the Commission's chairperson Prabha Dube constituted a two-member committee to investigate the case. The school reportedly has a single toilet for primary students which is used by boys and girls. While the board outside it indicates 'boys', the girls also used the same toilet which has urinal for boys inside and close-door washrooms for girls. The issue caught attention all across the state capital and social workers intervened.Activist Mamta Sharma said she is in constant touch with the girl’s parents who are under extreme pressure. She was told by the girl's parents that the school management's role is 'suspicious' and they are trying to hush up the issue.Sharma said that the girl’s father claimed that CWC has recorded different statement of the girl and has completely changed it in their records. Moreover, she accused police of filing the FIR too late. “When parents approached Pandri Police they were asked to go to Vidhan Sabha police station as the spot of crime falls under their jurisdiction. Parents went there at around 12 noon on Thursday and a case was lodged at 11.30 pm,” Sharma said.
