It’s a unique concept among the masses.”The problem with my previously developed micro supercomputer was, it was costly, hard to maintain and too heavy to carry around showcasing among the people and make them understand. So, I decided to make a compact version of it, he said.Explaining about his micro supercomputer, Memon said that this compact version which doesn’t compromise in technology, it operates on voice command and is an exact replica of UK’s Archer supercomputer. RAIPUR: After developing a 650 kilograms mini-supercomputer, a 24-year-old youth hailing from the Naxal-hotbed of the state Bastar has developed a seven kilograms micro supercomputer small enough to fit into a briefcase. Besides, he is planning to get this computer in college and primary schools in Bastar.Saad Memon, who is currently pursuing his double degree master programme in Ireland, UK and Germany built this micro supercomputer at a cost of around Rs 3 lacs funded by the National University of Ireland.Talking to TOI Memon said “Not only in India but also in European countries like UK, Ireland, and Germany, there is no general awareness about supercomputers among the people. It can be remotely accessed from any location across the globe using the internet. As a tribute to his mentor Vijay Bhatkar, who developed India’s first supercomputer, he named his invention as “Param Vijay Bhatkar” which has an efficiency of 20 computers, he said.Speaking about his main purpose for developing a micro version, Memon said the thing I regret the most is I didn’t know much about this when I was a kid, if I had known about supercomputers when I was in school, I would be in someplace else where I am now.“I don’t want the next generation to face something like this, that’s why my main goal is to educate students in school and colleges about this technology. Besides the supercomputer can be used for educational purposes too”, he said.Speaking about his plans for his hometown Memon said, specifically for Bastar we need more technology and tools, most of them are not accessible right now. He wants to motivate the kids in the Naxal hotbed of the state to do something big by showcasing his new inventions and technology.Memon also participated in launching a powered rocket with a 3D printed Can Satellite in Germany, where he was in one of the two teams who successfully launched the satellite. The Can Satellite was used to transmit the atmospheres data back to Ground Supercomputer, the one which he developed. He said it is a whole simulation of how satellites are launched in space, which requires a very moderate cost. He wants the kids across the state to gain such experience.
