DEHRADUN: Two persons, including a school-going minor girl, allegedly committed suicide in separate incidents in different parts of the state capital in the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.In the first incident, a 15-year-old girl, identified as Palak Verma, hanged herself from a ceiling fan at her house in Ladpur in Raipur police station area, according to a police officer.The deceased was a class 10 student studying in Mangla Devi School in Raipur. Her mother, who works in a private hospital, was on a night shift in the hospital when her daughter ended her life.“Her mother reached home on Thursday morning and opened the door to find her daughter Palak hanging from the ceiling fan. She immediately informed the neighbors, who then called the police,” said inspector Hemendra Singh Negi, in charge of Raipur police station.Meanwhile, police have not found any suicide note from the spot and officials are claiming that they are investigating the possible causes behind the suicide.In another incident on the same day, a 26-year-old Kapil Kumar ended his life after consuming poison . Upon receiving information, police team reached his room and took him to a hospital here, where he declared brought dead by the doctors.In a suicide note purportedly written by him, Kapil has said that he himself is responsible for his death, although he did not specify the reason behind taking the extreme step. The deceased originally hailed from Tehri district and was doing a private job in Dehradun.According to police data, 90 persons, including 36 females and 54 males, have committed suicides in Dehradun between January and October 2018. In 2017, 97 persons ended their lives due to various reasons.
