Political parties described it as an ‘undignified act’ that doesn’t suit her post.Madhu Bai uploaded about four short videos on an android based app called “Tik Tok” in which she is seen dancing on peppy numbers including famous Bollywood song “Bole Chudiya”, after which the video went viral and was circulated on other social media mediums including WhatsApp A spokesperson from the ruling Congress party said that instead of giving attention to the development of Raigarh district, the mayor is making dance videos and posting them on social media. Mayor should maintain the dignity of the post and not indulge in such activities, said the official. While the opposition BJP said that it doesn’t suits a Mayor to post such videos on social media. A party spokesperson said people supported her and elected a candidate from the third gender so that she will focus on the development works. But contrasting to this she is promoting such activities and isn’t serious about the development of the district.Reacting to the comments of political parties, Raigarh Mayor Madhu Bai, while talking to the media persons on Tuesday, said that it is obvious that Congress and BJP will make such comments. I always get such reactions and these political parties always feel bad whether I perform in Bhagwat, Ramayana or geeta bhawan.Madhu said that firstly I am a dancer and everyone knows that I am an artist. I just followed a trend and made videos on famous “Tik Tok” app which is widely being used by the people including the youth and even senior citizens. She said adding that as for the Congress party who are questioning me, I want to ask that whether a ‘parshad’ after coming into power stops dancing and playing orchestra. She said that the political parties are making this an issue unnecessarily, this is an era of social media and I will follow the trend. Madhu said that “mai ek kalakar hu aur mujhse ye sab sawal na pucha jaye” (I am an artist and people must not ask such questions from me). She said adding that “I am dancer before Mayor and I will perform wherever I wish to”.
