Raipur: The Mayor-in-Council on Friday announced to slash the school fees for girl students from Rs 415 to Rs 200 in the schools run by the civic body. This will benefit around 1,300 girls students of the capital city studying in these schools.The decision to slash the fees for girlswas passed unanimously at the MiC meeting. While Mayor Pramod Dubey will present the fiscal budget of 2019-20, which is estimated to be of Rs 2,650 crore in March the previous year budget of the RMC was Rs 2400 crore.As per RMC’s spokesperson, the MiC body also discussed and approved 18 agendas to be announced on the budget day. The vital points include charging points for E-vehicles, and more e-rickshaws. A nominal fare will be decided for the use of these charging points. Another feature will include to develop ‘help desk’ across the city, these platforms will provide information to people related to RMC services.The area around Telibandha pond will be developed with features like ‘wax museum’ proposed to be developed,. Besides the pond area will be utilised to develop amphitheatre and ‘chopati’. It is likely to proposed that RMC will introduce rental tariff on community halls and form certain guidelines for its cleanliness.As per RMC officials, the names of the certain landmarks has been changed including the roundabout at Canal road has been renamed to Gowardhan Chowk and the Deendayal Upadhaya Nagar’s approach road has been renamed as Shaheed Yugal Kishore verma. Raipur city several areas has been included under AMRUT mission where the work will be started from this year.
