Raipur cop shoots car dealer with service rifle

Investigators have found that Manoj bought a car from Agrawal for Rs 3 lakh on March 4. RAIPUR: A policeman gunned down an automobile businessman with a colleague's Insas rifle in a Raipur showroom in front of dozens of horrified employees and customers on Tuesday morning.Constable Manoj Sen walked into the showroom at 11.30am, stood just outside the glass cabin of second-hand car dealer Sanjay Agrawal, and cocked his rifle. When this 'dilly dallying' continued for a long time, Manoj feared that Agrawal didn't intend to give him the car back, so he began asking for his money.

People watched stunned, not believing that he would really shoot. Agrawal sensed the danger but he couldn't even get off his chair before Manoj fired two shots. Furious, Manoj - who is with the District Force - was apparently going around telling friends that he "would either kill Agrawal or commit suicide". Despite such alarming signs, no one raised the red flag. What's more chilling, a CAF constable, Jitendra Sen, had allegedly left his Insas with Manoj and gone on vacation.Manoj picked up this rifle and stormed into Agrawal's showroom with murder on mind, say police. Investigators have found that Manoj bought a car from Agrawal for Rs 3 lakh on March 4. The dealer initially delayed delivery of the vehicle. And when he did, Manoj told police, it was in poor condition.He took it back to the showroom and Agrawal promised to repair it, but allegedly kept making excuses. When this 'dilly dallying' continued for a long time, Manoj feared that Agrawal didn't intend to give him the car back, so he began asking for his money.
