Chhattisgarh honours its artistes to mark World Theatre Day

RAIPUR: To mark the World Theatre Day Chhattisgarh Visual Art Society and several art groups organized a series of programmes in the city.Chairman of Chhattisgarh Visual Art Society Subhash Mishra told TOI that the World Theatre Day is observed globally to generate awareness about the importance of the theatre, how it played an important role in the field of entertainment and the changes that theatre brings in life. We will felicitate the seven legends of Chhattisgarh, who devoted their lives to theatre and brought laurels for the state. "Various programmes are being organized by the different theatre groups in Raipur. It was initiated in 1961 by the International Theatre Institute Play Jitne Lab Utne Afsane , musical performances by famous artists, visual play of poems and poster exhibitions are being organised in Vrindavan hall and Muktakashi Manch Raipur," added Mishra.Chhattisgarh Film and Natya Foundation and Abhinat film showcased a play 'Sarjupar ki Monalisa', based on the story of a rape survivor, who fights for justice.World Theatre Day is celebrated on 27 March.
