Man kills tenant over rent hike Parmanand Markam Staff Reporter : RAIPUR In a shocking incident a man allegedly thrashed his tenant to death after a dispute broke between them over an issue of increasing rent. The accused identified as (39) allegedly murdered his tenant Shiva Dhruv (50) in Raipurs Ramkund area under Azad Chowk Police Station limits over a minor dispute said ASP (City) Lakhan Patle. Patle further informed that within a few hours of the crime Azad Chowk police arrested the accused near Amapara pond and produced in a local court from where he was sent to judicial custody. Police investigators have also recovered the wooden plank used in the crime. “Yesterday Markam went to Dhruvs house where a dispute broke between them over an issue of increasing rent. In a heat of rage the accused attacked Dhruv with a wooden plank leaving the latter dead on the spot” stated police sources. After being informed about the crime police rushed to the spot and based on prima-facie investigation police launched a search for Markam who fled after the crime said police sources elaborating that the accused was nabbed within a few hours of the incident. In this connection police have registered an offence against the accused under Section 302 (punishment for murder) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and probing the matter further added police sources.
