Staff Reporter : RAIPUR Baghel unveils works worth Rs 324.42 crore in the virtual programme Taking another step towards improving air-connectivity in North-Chhattisgarh Chief Minister on Tuesday performed bhoomipujan for renovation work of Ma Mahamaya Airport in Ambikapur. After inaugurating the renovation work worth Rs 44 crore Chief Minister Baghel said that the commencement of air services in Sarguja will expedite the development of Ambikapur Balrampur Surajpur Korea and Jashpur districts and also accelerate the progress of entire Chhattisgarh. Addressing the programme virtually at CM House Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel unveiled 302 works worth Rs 324.42 crore for Surguja and Balrampur-Ramanujganj districts. The Chief Minister inaugurated and performed Bhoomipoojan of 107 different development works worth Rs 247.91 crore for Sarguja district and 195 development works worth Rs 765188000 for Ramanujganj-Balrampur. Cabinet Ministers T S Singhdeo Tamradhwaj Sahu Dr Shivkumar Dahriya Umesh Patel Amarjeet Bhagat Dr Premsai Singh Tekam and Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Subrat Sahu were present at CMs residence. Parliamentary Secretary Chintamani Maharaj MLA Brihaspat Singh Dr Pritam Ram joined programme via video conference. While addressing the programme the Chief Minister said that the commencement of air services will expedite the development and promote tourism sector of the entire Chhattisgarh including Sarguja. The journey from Ambikapur to Raipur and Banaras will also become easy he added. Air-service from Bilaspur Airport to Prayagraj Delhi and Jabalpur has been started. Similarly there are regular flights from Maa Danteshwari Airport in Jagdalpur to Hyderabad and Raipur. Further expansion of air facilities is also in progress he added. In-charge Minister of Sarguja district Dr. Shivkumar Dahria while addressing the programme said that even in the time of COVID-19 development works are being done rapidly in Chhattisgarh. In the last one week Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has inaugurated and laid the foundation for development works worth more than Rs 4 thousand crores. Higher Education Minister and Minister in charge of Balrampur-Ramanujganj Umesh Patel said that despite the challenges of COVID-19 infrastructure development continued and many schemes have been implemented successfully for the betterment of every section of society in Chhattisgarh. He thanked Chief Minister Baghel for unveiling the development works on behalf of the citizens of Balrampur-Ramanujganj district. Health Minister T S Singhdeo said that bhumipoojan of Ambikapurs Darima airstrip and its upgradation work is a concrete step towards commencement of air service here. Food and Civil Supplies Minister Amarjeet Bhagat said that none of the challenging circumstances could affect the pace of development in Chhattisgarh. Rapid development is also being done in backward areas. School Education Minister Dr Premsai Singh Tekam said that it is the endeavor of the State Government to provide quality education with good facilities to the children in Swami Atmanand English Medium Schools. Parliamentary Secretary Chintamani Maharaj MLA duo Brihaspat Singh and Dr Pritamram also addressed the programme.
