Staff Reporter : DURG Dr Shukla also inspects dengue hotspots and LBS Government Hospital An effective strategy has been prepared to control dengue in Durg district it was discussed in a meeting chaired by Principal Secretary Health Dr Alok Shukla here on Sunday. It was decided in the meeting that work would be done for prevention of dengue by traditional methods along with techniques like geo tagging. The Principal Secretary also inspected dengue-affected areas Sector-4 and Khursipar here and interacted with the people. During this NRHM MD Dr Priyanka Shukla Collector Dr Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure Municipal Corporation Commissioner Rituraj Raghuvanshi were also present. Dr Shukla said that dengue mosquitoes breed in clean water so it is very important that clean water should not be allowed to stagnate anywhere for this effectively publicity should be spread and a strategy to deal with dengue should be made on a war footing. Collector Dr Bhure said that intensive monitoring is being done in this regard so that dengue can be prevented from spreading. Dr Shukla said that working in hotspots would be better with technology like geo tagging and more and more patients would be identified. 40000 testing kits will also be provided to the district so that maximum number of people can be tested and dengue can be effectively controlled. In the meeting Dr Alok Shukla instructed for spot mapping of dengue patients through geo-tagging. For this a section will be given in the website of Chhattisgarh Health Department in which any person suffering from dengue symptoms can go to that section and geo-tag himself with his name address and mobile number. Malaria Dengue and Hepatitis three options are available depending on the symptoms. In which the person giving information has to choose one of the three options based on his symptoms. This is the primary stage of this process. After this data will be reflected in the health department where the lab technicians will reach there after taking the details of the person related to this data and will test him by taking his sample. If the report is found positive in the testing then those persons will be isolated and their treatment will be started by the Health Department. This platform will be open to all the general public and SMS alert system will also be put in it. In this way effective monitoring of dengue prevention can be done using the technology.
