The downpour left muddy playgrounds inundated water fountains in parks and water-filled containers like tanks coolers and flower pots providing ideal breeding grounds for these disease-carrying mosquitoes. The relentless rain over the past day in Bhilai Township has created fresh breeding zones for mosquitoes. Complications such as Dengue Shock Syndrome and Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever can be life-threatening and require constant monitoring. The Health Department of BSP and the BMC are appealing to the public to clean water containers including flower vases water coolers and flower pots at least once a week.
