Prez performs pooja at Adishakti Maa Mahamaya Devi Temple Staff Reporter RAIPUR President of India Droupadi Murmu performed pooja-archana at Adishakti Maa Mahamaya Devi Temple located in the historical and religious town Ratanpur of Bilaspur district. President Murmu performed the rituals and prayed for happiness prosperity and progress of the country. For the first time the President visited the Mahamaya Devi Temple in Ratanpur. Rajsi Shringar ritual of Maa Mahamaya Devi was performed on the occasion. Earlier the President was welcomed by the office-bearers of Maa Mahamaya Mandir Temple Committee. It may be mentioned that the historical and religious town Ratanpur has a glorious history. Ratnadev I the ruler of the Kalchuri dynasty made Ratanpur his capital and built the Adishakti Maa Mahamaya Devi temple here. This temple was built in the 11th century. Maa Mahamaya was the Kuldevi of the kings of the Kalchuri dynasty of the Ratanpur branch. A grand fair is organised here in both the Navratri where people from every district of the state come and visit Maa Mahamaya and place their wishes in front of her. Chhattisgarh Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Renuka Singh Saruta Ashish Singh Thakur priests and office-bearers of the Mahamaya Mandir Temple Committee were present.
