The Election Commission in Chhattisgarh will organise special awareness campaigns in April, especially targeting low voter turnout areas, an official communiqué said on Monday. As part of SVEEP (Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation), a Navvadhu Samman event will be organised on March 17 to honour newly married brides. Chief Electoral Officer Reena Babasaheb Kangale has given directions to organise programmes to inspire young voters. She said that youth will play a key role in ensuring 100 percent voter turnout. They have a duty to encourage others to exercise their franchise as well. Children under 14 will not be included in any voter awareness programme, the communiqué said.
