C’garh floats tender for mineral exploration

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday launched a notice inviting tender to grant exploration licences through e-auction for three diamond and rare earth mineral blocks in Kondagaon, Narayanpur and Bastar districts. He did this at a function in Raipur. Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao was present. Chhattisgarhs mining achievements has earned it the Best Performer National Award. The State Mineral Resources Department has auctioned eight critical, strategic and deep-seated mineral blocks, including graphite, glauconite, nickel, chromium and PGE gold. Presently, the e-auction of a lithium block in Korba district is underway. Critical and strategic minerals are in high demand, which is usually met by imports. They cater to the needs of sectors like renewable energy, defence, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, high-tech electronics, telecommunications, transport and more, an official communiqué said.
