3.98 lakh youth voters in Phase-III LS polls

A total of 3,98,416 youths in the age of 18–19 years are enrolled to vote in the third and final phase of the Lok Sabha elections in Chhattisgarh, the Election Commission said on Wednesday. As many as 1,39,01,285 people are eligible to exercise their franchise in this phase. Of them, 69,67,544 are women, 69,33,121 are men and 620 belong to the third gender. A total of 6,08,050 voters are in the age group of 18–19 hyears and 47,88,334 are in the age category of 20–29. The total number of voters in the state has risen by 2,65,270 to 2,06,58,430, compared to 2,03,93,160 in the 2023 Assembly elections. Surguja, Korba, Bilaspur, Raipur, Durg, Janjgir-Champa and Raigarh will see polling on May 7. The results will be announced nationally on June 4.
