Chhattisgarh: Govt employee found playing Blue Whale

RAIPUR: Days after CID issued alert against Blue Whale challenge, a woman worker at a government high school in tribal Jashpur district was caught playing the deadly game on her mobile phone. Feeling suspicious, the colleagues informed senior officers who later informed the police on Monday.When police approached the woman, she said that the link of Blue Whale game was sent to her on her Gmail ID and that she had just started playing the game.However, the woman said that the mail with link has been deleted and she didn't reveal who had sent her the mail. The woman's hand was also found scratched with blade as part of her initial tasks to draw a whale on wrist.According to Jashpur police, the young woman who had joined as assistant worker in grade III on compassionate grounds at a high school of Kansabel block in Jashpur, used to remain isolated and spoke little with her colleagues.However, the matter came to fore when few colleagues saw her scratched wrist in one hand while there was a tattoo in another. Police said that they were convinced that woman wouldn't play the game as she was counselled.Talking to TOI, Jashpur SP Prashant Thakur said that the game was immediately uninstalled from her mobile phone and she was provided initial counselling.The SDM also visited her and she was sent on one week leave.The tribal woman's family was also asked to keep an eye on her activities to prevent any untoward incident.Police said that they were spreading awareness against usage of this game and pamphlets were being distributed at homes and schools.However, ethical hacker Mohit Sahu said that Blue Whale game has become such hype that the black hat hackers were making disadvantage out of this and were sending its duplicate links to people to hack and steal their data.
