RAJKOT: A 25-year-old man was bludgeoned to death over a petty quarrel by a fellow villager at Chowk village in Jesar taluka of Bhavnagar district on Tuesday. The accused was arrested on Wednesday. Police identified the deceased as Haresh Vala and the accused as Suresh Vaghela (19).The murder was the result of a quarrel between the victim and accused over a trivial matter. “Vaghela picked a fight with Vala, accusing him of eyeballing him in the village market. Vala told him to mind his own business and a fight ensued. Vaghela picked up a bat and started hitting Vala on his head and back,” said Jesar police station sub-inspector S I Sumra.Vala was first taken to the primary health centre at Jesar but was moved to Palitana Civil Hospital, where he died shortly after admission. From his dying declaration, police nabbed Vaghela on Wednesday. Vaghela, who studies in Surat, had come to his native village, Chowk, just two days ago. tnn
