RAJKOT: A gruesome crime of three minor sisters being repeatedly raped by their father has rocked Porbandar.Police on Sunday arrested the man, who is in his mid-40s, for allegedly raping his daughters — the youngest aged nine years, another 14 years and the eldest girl is 16-year-old. Shockingly, the man had been sexually assaulting the girls for the past five years when the youngest one was aged just four years.“The accused works as a casual labourer. After the death of his wife five years ago, he put his four children — three daughters and a 15-year-old son — in a school run by a private trust in Junagadh. Then blinded by lust, he went to Junagadh to pick up his eldest daughter. After bringing her home, he allegedly raped her. This became a habit,” said H M Patel, Kamlabaug police station inspector He picked her up during school holidays and vacation and raped her several times,” said H M Patel, Kamlabaug police station inspector.After this, he allegedly targeted his second daughter aged 14. “Employing similar tactic, he would pick up his second daughter from school on some pretext and take her home. He allegedly raped her several times,” said Patel.On the day of Janmashtami (September 3), he once again preyed on his youngest daughter.The accused used to threaten the girls with dire consequences if they complained about the crime. None of the sisters had even talked among themselves about the sexual assaults for so many years till the youngest one spoke up after being raped on September 3. She told her eldest sister, who in turn narrated her ordeal to their brother. The middle sister also confided her trauma to the siblings.“All the children then decided to approach the police and reached Kamlabaug police station on Saturday evening,” added Patel.Police immediately sent them for medical examination and arrested their father. He has been booked for rape under various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.
