Rajkot: Fearing crop failure , a 35-year-old farmer ended his life by consuming insecticide at his house in Vavadi village of Dhari taluka in Amreli district on Monday.The deceased was identified as Anak Jhebalia. “Jhebalia’s brother Champu told us that Jhebalia had been suffering from depression ever since he suffered crop failure thrice this monsoon,” an official from Dhari police station said.“This time around he had done sowing for the third time. His scepticism escalated into anxiety, leading to acute depression and he took the drastic step,” the official added.Jhebalia is survived by an eight-year-old son and a wife. He, however, was sceptical about the crop outcome.
