SSNNL engineer, clerk arrested for taking bribe; Rajkot

They first nabbed Rathwa red-handed accepting bribe from near a hotel adjacent to Mela Maidan in Dhrangadhra and then arrested Patel. But when Rathwa demanded Rs 2,000 more, the complainant approached the ACB, which trapped the accused. The duo was charged under Prevention of Corruption Act. RAJKOT: An executive engineer of Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Ltd and a junior clerk of his department were arrested by the anti-corruption bureau ( ACB ) for demanding Rs 2,000 from a retired employees of the same firm for clearing his pension dues.According to ACB sleuths, Mahesh Patel, executive engineer of SSNNL, Dhangadhra division, and his subordinate Pratik Rathwa were arrested based on complaint of 60-year-old former employee of SSNNL.ACB officials said that the complainant had already paid Rs 3,000 to the accused for clearing his pension dues.
