Suicide abetment accused nabbed

Rajkot: A man who was accused of abetting suicide and had been absconding for past six years was finally nabbed from Nathu Pipadia village of Lodhika taluka in Rajkot district on Sunday.Police said the accused, Jina Dhudhrejia alias Manu Bapu (60), was wanted for allegedly abetting the suicide of Pravin Desani. “Dhudhrejia’s neighbours ascertained his identity and told us about his new whereabouts in Nathu Pipadia village, following which we went there and nabbed him,” added Rana.tnn Unable to cope with the situation, Desani committed suicide. As Dhudhrejia had stopped paying instalments of the loan, the bank mounted pressure on Desani. The victim had committed suicide at his factory in Aji Industrial Zone in 2012.Desani and Dhudhrejia had opened a factory in partnership for which Dhudhrejia had taken Rs 5 lakh loan from a bank.

Unable to cope with the situation, Desani committed suicide. “After this, Dhudhrejia fled and went absconding. He assumed the guise of a sadhu and started living in Nathu Pipadia village,” said H M Rana, sub-inspector of Rajkot special operation group.Desani’s family members lodged a complaint at Thorala police station following which Dhudhrejia was booked for suicide abetment.Meanwhile, the cops received a tip-off that Dhudhrejia was in touch with his family members and was meeting them frequently in Shaktinagar Society on Gondal Road in Rajkot. “Dhudhrejia’s neighbours ascertained his identity and told us about his new whereabouts in Nathu Pipadia village, following which we went there and nabbed him,” added Rana.tnn
