However, one of the victims’ mother tried to implicate the paramours of the deceased and mislead police.The deceased were identified as Gulab Khimania (20), who died on Thursday night, and Kajal Atrolia (18), who passed away on Friday morning at Junagadh Civil Hospital.There was a twist in the case when Khimania’s mother Rekha claimed that she had witnessed the women’s paramours Kano Koli (20) and Bhavesh Koli (21), forcing them to consume poison at knife point.According to Rekha, who claimed to have witnessed the crime at the farm where she was working along with Khimania and Atrolia, both Kano and Bhavesh had asked the women to elope with them, and when the they refused, saying that they were engaged to other men, the accused forced them to consume poison.However, police investigation revealed that Rekha’s version was false and that both the women had committed suicide of their own volition.“When we arrested Kano, he admitted that he and Bhavesh had indeed gone to meet their girlfriends, but were spotted by Khimania’s grandmother, after which they fled from the spot.
