Two more held in Bhavnagar fake currency racket

With their arrest total number of persons held in the fake currency printing racket has risen to seven.On May 26, the Amreli LCB had arrested three persons involved in the racket and sealed their facility in Bhavnagar where the notes were being printed. Rajkot: Two more persons were arrested in connection with fake currency printing and circulation racket that was busted last week by the Amreli local crime branch (LCB) on Tuesday. They said that Yadav was resident of Dungarpur village of Palitana, but was living in Chitra area of Bhavnagar city.

The cops also seized Rs 18.56 lakh in fake currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 2,000 denomination from the accused.The LCB sleuths arrested Vitthal Yadav (52), from Kunkavav village of Bhavnagar on Sunday late night and Gila Makwana (34) from Mandvi village of Griyadhar taluka of Bhavnagar on Monday late night. They said that Yadav was resident of Dungarpur village of Palitana, but was living in Chitra area of Bhavnagar city. Mackwan is resident of Shihore taluka of Bhavnagar. With their arrest total number of persons held in the fake currency printing racket has risen to seven.On May 26, the Amreli LCB had arrested three persons involved in the racket and sealed their facility in Bhavnagar where the notes were being printed. Those arrested were identified as Arjun Bhil, Mehul Vegad and Mahesh Vegad.The LCB had busted the racket by arresting two persons Sachin Parmar, a young engineer and his friend Paresh Solanki, on Amreli-Lathi Road on May 25. Fake notes of Rs 1.11 crore face-value were seized from them.According to police, Yadav and Mackwana, had procured the fake notes from the key conspirator Sachin. During arrest police seized Rs 57,500 in fake currency from Yadav, while from Mackwana they recovered Rs 17.98 lakh in duplicated notes of Rs 500 and Rs 2,000 denomination.Police said that the duo had bought the printed duplicate notes from Sachin and had circulated a few notes in the market. However, most of the fake notes were seized before it got circulated in the market, they added.
