Rajkot: Over a dozen a half dozen members of royal families from Saurashtra royal scion of Rajkot Mahndhatasinhji Jadeja to protest against Congress leader Shashi Tharoor's comment that Rajput maharajas had turned tail when faced with the might of the British empire, even striking a bargain for their self-preservation. They also demanded that government come out with the policy for movies based on history.King of Sirohi (Rajasthan) Maharav Raghvendrasinhji and prince of erstwhile Rajkot state Mandhatasinhji condemned Tharoor's comment terming the leader as "impulsive child brought up in Congress family."Mandhatasinhji said, "Indian royal families are the symbol of valor, religiousness, nationalism and unity of India. Tharoor's comment were meant for publicity."When asked about Padmavati movie he said, "Censor board is yet to decide about the release of film but we want government to make a policy on making film on historical subjects."Princess of Rajkot Kadambari Devi said, "Padmavati had sacrificed her life to save her self-respect. The film is playing with the feelings of Rajputs. It should not be allowed unless necessary cuts are made."
