Three TPC ultras killed in encounter with security forces

RANCHI/DALTONGANJ: Three top ultras of Tirtiya Prastuti Committee (TPC) were killed in an encounter with security forces on Monday at Doodur jungle near Kala Pahar in Palamu.According to deputy superintendent of police Hussainabad Manoj K Mahto : “The three killed TPC ultras have been identified as Chandon of Garhwa, Pawan of Chatra and Paramjit of Palamu.” The three ultras who were killed were of area commander rank, said police.“The security forces have recovered six weapons which included one AK 47, two SLRs,” said Mahto.The encounter started around 12.55 pm on Monday and went on for little over 90 minutes. A team of CRPF and Jharkhand police were engaged in the encounter.Sources said there were two dozen TPC ultras at Doodur and the cops spotted them resting under a Mahua tree.The contingent of TPC which was split in two groups was ready to have their lunch when the encounter with cops took place. “Some of the naxals managed to flee from the spot and are being chased by our joint teams in a combing operation,” he said. Sources said around 150 rounds were fired by the security forces.IG headquarters and state police spokesperson Ashish Batra said that two people- Lambu Singh and Vikas Paswan were injured in the encounter who have been taken into custody.
