Diarrhoea outbreak in Bokaro, 2 Birhors among 12 affected

Bokaro: A diarrhoea outbreak has been reported in Gomia and Nawadih blocks of the district with more than 12 residents of different villages, including two members of the primitive Birhor tribe, affected by the ailment.The outbreak has sounded alarm bells for the district health machinery with offcials deploying doctors and initiating health camps in affected villages.Ranjit Birhor and Raju Birhor, resident of Tulbul, were admitted to the government hospital in Gomia. “We are taking precautionary measures to stop the disease from spreading,” added Poddar. Many of them have been released from the hospital after treatment.People are being provided treatment at health camps set up in Tilyataand of Gomia Block and Pek in Nawadih.

The villagers are drinking waters from well and that without cleaning it. “We are taking precautionary measures to stop the disease from spreading,” added Poddar.
