Calm restored in Ranchi area after rumours

SP (city) Aman Kumar said that efforts were on to stop spread rumors regarding the incident. There were reports of several people being taken into custody, but police refused to confirm or deny the reports.DSP (sadar) Vikas Pandey said normalcy has been restored in the area. Police restored calm in Ranchi's Badgai locality after rumours about the presence of beef at a household led to a minor clash on Thursday.Officials rushed to the spot with large contingent of policemen, including Rapid Action Force, to maintain peace.Police said they have seized some pieces of meat from the house and they will be sent to a lab to ascertain if it is beef.
