RANCHI: Chetna, a campaign against sexual abuse, drug use on children and cyber bullying, was launched across various schools on Monday by the IPS officer's wives association (IPSOWA), Jharkhand members. They have also set up a separate helpline in city schools to help the youngsters.Poonam Pandey, president of IPSOWA, said, "The goal is to target drug abuse at its root and educate school children so that they can refrain from it. Each IPSOWA member has been allotted four to five schools to monitor the campaign. Our primary focus will be the government school students to curb the use of drugs and narcotics at a young age."IPSOWA, along with Delhi based-NGO Shakti Vahini, have decided to work towards the cause. A short film by Tushar Kundu, student of DAV Kapildev will be screened across schools to educate the students of their motto. IPSOWA Jharkhand members cooperated with the female auto drivers of the city, pasting posters on their vehicles.Rishikant, a member of Shakti Vahini, said, "The awareness is about sexual abuse and should start at a young age and with this project. We will try to educate children from all schools."
