Model code of conduct violation rampant in Ranchi Despite the model code of conduct being in force ahead of the general elections, a number of wall paintings, flags of political parties and posters can be seen on the walls of temples, government schools and residential buildings across the city. Following the imposition of model code on March 10, the district electoral officer-cum-Ranchi DC had issued orders to remove political hoardings, banners and posters within 72 hours. .A wall painting with the slogan " Dil kahe baar baar - abki baar fir Bhajpa sarkar" along with the BJP's election symbol is still present at the Durga temple on Ratu Road. Several posters of Aam Aadmi party (AAP) were also seen on the walls of the Government Urdu middle school on Church Road. The poster features faces of three AAP leaders along with Arvind Kejriwal. A message of "changing Ranchi with honesty" is printed on these posters along with a WhatsApp number of the party. Several BJP flags have been put up in front of a hotel in Lalpur. Pankaj Rajgarhia, the owner of City Palace hotel, said: "The flags were installed during a programme of Lalpur BJP Mandal 10 days ago as my hotel was the venue." He added that he doesn't know if it was in violation of the model code. Ranchi DC Rai Mahimapat Ray said: "Our teams are working round-the-clock since March 10 and we are registering FIRs against the violators on a daily basis. We are also tracking the C-vigil application and the complaints are being addressed within 100 minutes. If any violation comes to light, an FIR will be registered against the violators immediately."
