Ranchi: The Khunti police have stepped up anti-extremist operations after Maoists pasted posters at two places under the Arki police station area on Friday. The posters have urged people to take part in the 19th foundation day celebration of the CPI (Maoists), which is being observed from September 21 to 27. Khunti SP Aman Kumar said that posters were stuck in the villages located on borders with West Singhbhum district. It may be stated here that the state police are conducting operations in sensitive places in view of the Maoists programme.
