JMM, Left lambast BJP for allowing MP to use ‘hate speech’ in Parl

Ranchi: The ruling JMM in the state on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led government in the Centre over the Ramesh Bidhuri row, accusing the saffron camp of planning to launch a genocide in the country. JMM also called the presence of elements like Biadhuri in Parliament a massive security threat to other lawmakers, especially of the opposition camps. The tribal party added that they apprehend more unruly scenes inside the new Parliament building in the upcoming winter session.JMMs statement came a day after BJP MP from South Delhi, Ramesh Bidhuri, made unparliamentary and derogatory remarks against BSP MP Danish Ali in Lok Sabha on Friday, which triggered political row across the country. The party also said Bidhuris remark was tantamount to hate speech.JMMs central spokesperson talking to reporters on Saturday in Ranchi said, This is the new Parliament building of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi government, where there will be no room for decency and the environment will be toxic. The start of the parliamentary proceedings in the new building has exposed the intention behind its construction. In a sense, the country is grateful that the old parliament building where iconic statesmen of this country sat and spared of such behaviour. He added, What is more ironic is the way the leader of the House (PM) once again kept silent over such vitriolic attack on a democratically chosen MP and it is proof enough of the party line. The more you abuse on religious lines, the better your prospects in BJP to grow. It wont be a surprise if Bidhuri is now made Delhi BJP party chief or inducted into the Modi cabinet. There are enough examples like him in the past under the Modi regime. Given the kind of mental state of people like him (Bhiduri), it is a threat to other MPs and we apprehend the winter session will be more violent. The way things are panning out in this country, it seems that BJP is preparing for a genocide in the country. On the other hand, different social outfits, mostly comprising minorities and CPI, staged protests on the Main Road demanding the sacking and arrest of the BJP MP.CPI(ML) central committee members Subhendu Sen, Nadeem Khan and Bhuvneshwar Kevat said despite the ban on the use of unparliamentary languages during House proceedings, the use of such words has become a habit of the ruling party. This is linguistic lynching and action should be taken under hate speech, Nadeem said.
