Ranchi: With an eye on next years Lok Sabha polls, Ranchis BJP member of parliament Sanjay Seth on Sunday said he is pushing for the introduction of two new Vande Bharat Express trains from Ranchi soon.Seth, who attended the flag-off ceremony of the Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat Express in the city, said he has formally requested Union railways minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to sanction Vande Bharat Express between Ranchi and Varanasi railway stations and Ranchi and Puri in Odisha. The BJP parliamentarian said,Vande Bharat trains would reduce the travel time to six-seven hours and boost footfall. Seth said he has also requested Vaishnaw to introduce an Antodaya Express from Ranchi to South India and restoration of the stoppages of several express trains at Tantisilwai railway station.Meanwhile, Seth said, The trains were sanctioned from Jharkhand connecting the neighbouring states of Bihar even though Prime Minister Narendra Modis political party is not in power in these states. This shows that the issue of development is of paramount importance to the PM rather than politics.Mahua Maji, a Rajya Sabha member from JMM, made veiled attacks at the Centre over the Vande Bharat Express. The fares of these trains should be reduced so that everyone can afford it, Maji said. The trains schedule includes a departure from Ranchi at 05:15hrs and arrival in Howrah at 12:20hrs, with the return journey departing Howrah at 15:45hrs and reaching Ranchi at 22:50hrs.Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat from Sep 24Jharkhand is set to receive its second Vande Bharat Express, which will run between Ranchi and Howrah railway stations. The train, inaugurated remotely by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 24, is expected to reduce travel time between Jharkhand and West Bengal by nearly half an hour. It will operate six days a week and make stops at various stations along the route. The train is anticipated to have high occupancy initially due to the upcoming Durga Puja festival. Railways in India are also conducting successful trial runs of Vande Bharat Express trains on other routes.Two Vande Bharat trains to Ranchi, PatnaBengal is set to receive two more Vande Bharat Express trains, with PM Narendra Modi virtually flagging off nine of these trains. The new trains for the Patna-Howrah and Ranchi-Howrah routes will have 25 additional features. The Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat will stop at Muri, Purulia, Chandil, and Kharagpur, while the Patna-Howrah Vande Bharat will halt at Asansol and Jasidih. Additionally, the Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express has been targeted for the third time, resulting in damage to the trains windowpane.
