Ranchi: The Netaji Nagar Durga Puja Committee started organising the Puja on a vacant ground in Netaji Nagar colony around 66 years ago. Later, a permanent structure was constructed where a statue of Goddess Kali was established. The Durga Puja is organised here in this structure. The committee comprises around 100 members who are residents of Netaji Nagar. Apart from organising religious festivals, the committee members are involved in several social works. They collect funds among themselves to help people facing financial difficulties. The committee helps people in medical emergencies, too. During Covid-19 a vaccination camp was organised at the pandals structure. We also provided food to the needy for about four months in the beginning of the pandemic. If a person, who has no one in the family, passes away, we ensure his/her last rites.
