Bokaro DC, SP inspect pandals

Bokaro: DC Kuldeep Choudhary and superintendent of police (SP) Priyadarshi Alok on Wednesday inspected Puja pandals to assess the compliance of the law and order guidelines by the Durga Puja committees. During their inspection of pandals, Choudhary and Alok stressed upon the importance of adhering to the directives issued by the district administration. The two officers gathered information from the Puja committee members on issues like idol immersion, presence of surveillance cameras and control rooms, electricity systems, volunteer coordination, and cleanliness among other things. Licensed contractors must be hired for lighting, emergency lighting services must be provided, and fire extinguishers and water storage should be available. Police will conduct regular checks, use separate crowd control plans, and deploy skilled volunteers. CCTVs will be installed and additional security forces deployed.Puja Pandal catches fire in Agartala, no casualties reportedA fire broke out at a Durga Puja pandal in Agartala, causing damage to the pandal, a clubhouse, and two nearby shops. No injuries were reported as the incident occurred while artists were working inside the pandal. The cause of the fire was believed to be an electric connection attached to a low-tension power line. The Tripura State Electricity Corporation has launched an inquiry into the accident. Authorities have advised puja organizers to be extra cautious during the festive season.
