Navratri celebrations light up Bokaro schools

Bokaro: A delightful array of Navratri celebrations was witnessed in Bokaro schools. At Sri Ayyappa Public School, a special assembly was organised and students and teachers celebrated the festival with a focus on the nine forms of Maa Durga. From pre-nursery to prep classes, teachers guided students in understanding the significance of the various forms of Durga, said S S Mahapatra, director.Delhi Public School Bokaro also organised a special assembly and students from classes III to V performed bhajans, garba, and dandiya dances, underscoring the significance of Shakti.A special Navratri program was also organised at Chinmaya Vidyalaya. Students from classes XI and XII began with Maa Durga-stuti recitations, lectures on her nine forms, and enthusiastic Garba dance performances. This cultural practice, known as Talwar Ras, is deeply rooted in Gujarats traditions. Women dressed in traditional attire paid homage to Goddess Durga at Rajvi Palace. Similar celebrations, including morning aarti ceremonies and Bommai Kolu in Kerala, were observed across the country. Navratri, dedicated to the worship of Maa Durga and her nine avatars, is celebrated in various ways in India, including Ramlila performances and effigy burnings of King Ravana.
