MoU inked for 250-bed hospital in smart city site

Ranchi: The Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) has signed a sub deed lease with the Apollo Hospital Enterprises for the construction of a hospital in the area-based development region of the Ranchi Smart City project in the presence of chief minister Hemant Soren on Thursday.Soren has instructed authorities to schedule a ground breaking ceremony for the project on November 15, which also marks the statehood day. The hospital will be constructed on 2.75 acres. Sub-lease of the land is being taken for 45 years, which can be extended in future, officials said. The flight, carrying 150 passengers, was scheduled to depart at 8:30 am but was grounded after a pilot detected the issue. Engineers worked throughout the day to repair the aircraft, and passengers were given refunds or booked on alternative flights. The airline did not provide further details about the snag.Ranchi admin lays out traffic planIn preparation for the upcoming Durga Puja festival, the police in Ranchi will be implementing a new traffic plan from Friday to Tuesday. Private vehicles will be restricted on busy roads and heavy vehicles will be prohibited from entering the city between 8am and 4am. Various routes and areas will also have restrictions on the movement of vehicles. Drop gates will be set up at 15 locations to prevent the entry of heavy vehicles, while parking areas will be available at 14 different places for pandal hoppers.Ex-mayor for audit of all Smart City projectsFormer Panaji mayor Uday Madkaikar has called for an audit of all projects implemented under the Smart City Mission in Panaji, India. Madkaikar emphasized the need for a financial and quality audit, particularly in light of a recent incident in which a laborer died at a smart city worksite. He questioned the role of consultants and engineers overseeing the projects and demanded that police register a case against them along with the contractor.
