3k personnel deputed for crowd control across JSR

Jamshedpur: The district administration has deployed 3,000 security personnel across the urban circle to keep an eye on the anti-social elements as people throng streets to celebrate Durga Puja.Splitting the 20 police station area into 12 super zones, 300 magistrates have been deployed to supervise the personnel for effective crowd control and security monitoring.The SSP, Kishore Kaushal, said that apart from the district-level control room at Composite Crime Control (CCC) building in Sakchi, additional control rooms have been set up at Golmuri Chowk, Mango Chowk and railway station Chowk. Jharkhand Homeguard, Jharkhand Armed Police, Rapid Action Force and NCC cadets will assist the district police in regulating the crowd. Along with CCTVs, and drone cameras which are being effectively used to keep an eye from a distance, videography of the movement of the crowd will be done. The administration has categorised 28 puja pandals in hyper sensitive and three in sensitive bracket in the city area for proper security arrangements. Major chunk of the pandals are in Jugsalai, Sakchi, Bistupur, Mango and Sidhgora.The administration has deployed a mobile squad of 50 women personnel to keep an eye on eve teasers. The women police will be in plain-clothes. The Vikhroli Bengali Association has installed an eco-friendly idol of Goddess Durga, while the Navajeevan Sangha Puja in Mulund is offering free health camps and feeding underprivileged people.Naxalite killed in clash with security personnel in Chhattisgarhs BijapurA Naxalite was killed in a clash with security forces in Chhattisgarhs Bijapur district during an anti-Naxal operation. The security forces had received information about the presence of senior Naxalites and armed cadres in the forests. A shootout resulted in the death of a Naxalite and the recovery of an AK-47 rifle. The identity of the deceased is yet to be confirmed, and search operations are ongoing. Bijapur is one of the constituencies scheduled for the first phase of Chhattisgarh elections on November 7.
