104 campus ambassadors in Palamu for poll awareness

  • | Tuesday | 2nd April, 2024

Palamu district has made 104 campus ambassadors ahead of the lok sabha election polling of which is due on May 13.   Stating this the deputy election officer Kanuram Naag said this fleet of the 104 campus ambassadors is creating awareness about larger participation in the voting here.    Last lok sabha election it was little over 64 percent. This time we are vigorously campaigning for 80 percent of polling said Naag.    Asked if this target for 80 percent voting is not like a cry for the moon here to which Naag said "We will leave no stone unturned to achieve this percent of voting."   He agreed voters in the towns are apathetic to the polling while rural voters vote en masse.    As polling here in Palamu is on May 13 everyone is scared of loo and mercury touching any degree between 43 to 44 degree Celsius.    Summer in Palamu is compared to fire in hell.   Polling personnel have begun to ask for controlled price sale of water melons and coconut water.    As following requisition of trucks and other vehicles ahead of the polling, availability of fruits becomes scarce and prices shoot up.    Polling personnel have urged the civil supplies officials to arrange sale of water melons and coconut water etc at controlled price before embarking on the poll duty.
