63.66 % polling in Hazaribag parliamentary constituency

Voting for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 was held on May 20 in 14 Hazaribag constituencies. District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Nancy Sahay addressed the press after the conclusion of the voting period. She said that till 5:00 pm the voting percentage of Hazaribag Lok Sabha constituency was 63.66 and the updated voting percentage report is yet to come.The detailed report after the entire election process can also be seen on the ECI website. She said that no untoward or law and order related incident took place during the election process.She said that counting of votes is on June 4, the venue of which has been identified as Market Committee.On the matter of vote boycott, the DEO said that the matter of not voting by the local people at two booths of Kusumba of Katkamdag numbered 183 and 184 has also come to his notice. The local people have approached NTPC on local issues like railway siding and bridge construction. Boycotted the vote.The administration has made efforts to convince the locals in this regard by holding several meetings in the past.Regarding re-poll, she said that there will be no re-poll.He further said that when the EVM was reported to be malfunctioning in the initial moments of voting, it was repaired by an engineer and in case of failure, an alternative EVM was used. An FIR has been lodged on two cases of violation of the Model Code of Conduct, in which this action has been taken taking into cognizance the cases of a particular political partys slip being pasted in the voter slip at two booths in Barhi and being distributed to the voters.In the end he also thanked the media.Superintendent of Police Arvind Kumar Singh, Deputy Development Commissioner Prerna Dixit, DPRO Rohit Kumar were present in this press conference.
