Vishnu Dayal Ram is Palamu BJP MP. He defeated RJDs Mamta Bhuiyan by around 3 lakhs of votes.    It his third poll victory since 2014. His vote bank improved and remained intact. Dalits voted for him too in large numbers.    He had faced some orchestrated resistance but that was more a political arms twisting than any anti incumbency factor against him.    There is a question asked more. The party won or the individual won?    Whose victory is this? Of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi or of the candidate Vishnu Dayal Ram. Its both.    Vishnu Dayal Ram has crossed  his stunning more than 7 lakhs of votes record of his 2019 Lok Sabha election victory in 2024 again.    By the 20th round he had already polled 6,85,316 votes and it was counting for another two more rounds 21 and 22 the final lap.    He took his lead in the first round which he maintained till the end. He never trailed. Mamta Bhuiyan could never make him trail even by a few thousand votes.    His retention of votes is outstanding but it is his victory margin that has squeezed.    In the 2019 Lok Sabha election he had defeated his nearest rival RJDs Ghuran Ram by 4.75 lakhs of votes.    However this 2024 lok sabha election his victory margin is below what he had in the 2019 lok sabha election.    Mamta Bhuiyan of RJD gave him a tough fight despite being a lok sabha candidate for the first time or to be fair enough it was her maiden poll battle. She lost the election but she won the appreciation for her from her political opponents.    Regional party like this RJD in Palamu has to face a formidable BJP which has money and men and BJPs booth management is simply superb.    BJP treats the polling booths as next to place of veneration. Other political parties never understand this and suffer most on this account.
