The National Democratic Alliance finished with nine seats in the General Elections 2024 in the State, while INDIA block candidates won in five parliamentary constituencies. However, there was a reason to celebrate for the INDI Alliance as unlike the 2019 general elections, when they won only two seats out of 14 seats in the State, this time they could grab three extra seats. Union Minister Arjun Munda faced a major setback as he was defeated by a huge margin of 149675 votes by Congress Kalicharan Munda in Khunti constituency. Similarly, Geeta Koda, who switched sides to BJP from Congress just before the elections, was defeated by 168402 votes in Singhbhum seat by JMMs Joba Manjhi. Koda had won the seat in 2019 on a Congress ticket. In a setback to JMM chief Shibu Sorens daughter in law and BJP candidate from Dumka Sita Soren, JMMs Nalin Soren registered win by a margin of 21585 votes. BJPs Sunil Soren had won the seat in 2019. Congress Sukhdeo Bhagat won the Lohardaga seat by 126991 votes defeating the saffron partys Rajya Sabha MP Sameer Oraon. BJP had denied ticket to three-time MP Sudharshan Bhagat and given a chance to Oraon. In Rajmahal constituency, JMM candidate and sitting MP Vijay Kumar Hansdak won by 177272 votes. He was contesting against BJPs former state president Tala Marandi. On the rest of the seats the NDA maintained its winning streak. In Jamshedpur BJPs Vidyut Varan Mahto won by 143433 votes against JMMs Sameer Mohanty. In Ranchi BJPs Sanjay Seth won by 120512 votes against Congress Yashaswini Sahay, daughter of former Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay.
