RPL certificates to contract workers of SAIL, RSP

The Learning and Development Centre of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has been conducting Sampark programmes in different Departments where RPL certificates are being handed over to the contract workers in the presence of Departmental Heads. The initiative aims at strengthening the Departmental connect for better improvement of employee performance and ability. In a function held at New Plate Mill Conference hall on 24th May, Ms. Rajashree Banerjee, CGM (HR - L&D) and Mr. Kartikeya Behera, CGM (NPM & SPP)  handed over certificates to 76 contract workers associated with New Plate Mill and Special Plate Plant. Present on the occasion were Dr. P K Padhi, GM In-charge (SPP), Mr. S Konda, GM (HR-L&D), and other Senior Officers and employees of the Department. The function was coordinated by Training Engineers, Mr. Prabir Kumar Behera, GM (SPP) and Ms. Preeti Kumari, Senior Manager (NPM), while the vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Alok Ranjan Behera, JO (L&D). Mr. L Marandi, Senior Manager (HR-L&D) anchored the session. The L & D team comprising Mr K K Jaiswal, AGM (HR-L&D), Ms. Arnnapurna Behera, Senior Manager (HR-L&D), Ms. Binita Tirkey, Manager (HR- L&D)  led by Mr. S Konda, facilitated the programme.  Notably, these contract workers were trained in domain skills as well as soft skills. During the course they were provided with entrepreneurship tips. After assessment they have all been certified. The main objective of the certification is to align the competencies of the pre-existing workforce of the country to the standardized National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF). During the programme the L&D activities were highlighted and the training needs were discussed at length to make the L&D programme more relevant and vibrant.
