Sandeep Rajak, a 34-year-old Home Guard jawan, committed suicide by hanging at his home late on Wednesday night. Sandeep, a resident of Shankosai Road No. 2 in the Ulidih police station area, reportedly took his own life using a scarf. The local police promptly arrived at the scene, prepared a Panchnama of the body, and sent it to MGM Medical College for a post-mortem examination. Sandeep Rajak had married just six months ago, in December 2023. It is reported that he had been under significant stress since his marriage. According to his father, Naresh Rajak, Sandeep had been struggling with this stress but did not disclose the specifics despite several inquiries from his family. The family is in a state of shock and mourning the loss. Naresh Rajak expressed his grief, mentioning how he had tried to understand the cause of his sons distress, but Sandeep remained silent about his troubles. The tragic loss of Sandeep Rajak highlights the urgent need for mental health support and intervention, especially for those in high-stress professions like the Home Guard service.   Sandeep was a Home Guard jawan initially posted at Azadnagar police station and later transferred to MGM hospital. Unfortunately, he did not join his new duty post before taking his own life.  The police sent his body for a post-mortem at MGM Medical College, and on Thursday, it was handed over to the grieving family. The family is deeply shocked and mourning the loss of their loved one.
