Financial constraints not to deter students from pursuing higher education: CM

It is Government resolution that no student of the state would be deprived of higher and technical education due to financial constraints. In this direction, many schemes have been started by the state government. To ensure the benefits of these schemes to the poor and meritorious students here with ease, Chief Minister Champai Soren said these things in a high-level meeting of the Higher and Technical Education Department in the Jharkhand Ministry today. On this occasion, he launched the "Go Live of Student Application Module" of Guruji Student Credit Card Scheme. Under this, the students who have been selected for higher education institutions will be able to apply online. After this, they will be provided education loan up to Rs 15 lakh by the banks with which the government has signed an agreement for this scheme. The Chief Minister said that the government has started many schemes like Guruji Credit Card Scheme, Chief Minister Education Promotion Scheme and Manki Munda Scholarship Scheme for the students. Poor and needy students should get the benefit of these schemes. The Chief Minister said that the government is trying to ensure that the lack of money does not become a hindrance for the children here in pursuing courses like medical engineering, fashion designing, journalism and law along with coaching for competitive exams. The Chief Minister emphasized on making higher and technical education in the state better and excellent. He said that a large number of students from here go to other states for higher education. In such a situation, we have to make efforts to ensure that there is a strong system of campus placement along with quality education in the higher educational institutions here, so that the students here can get good education in their own state and also get a good job. The Chief Minister said that many building construction works are going on in various educational institutions along with many new degree colleges in the state. Speed up the construction work of these buildings and complete it within the stipulated time frame, so that the teachers and students here can get its benefit. He said that the government is opening many new colleges in towns, small cities and blocks, so that the students here can get better and higher education near their homes. The Chief Minister directed the officials to make the Tribal University to be opened in Jamshedpur functional soon. He said that this university will mean a lot to this state. This will promote the tribal languages here. In such a situation, complete all the processes including appointment to start this university as soon as possible. The Chief Minister took detailed information about the schemes related to higher and technical education in the meeting. He gave clear instructions to the officials that whatever schemes are being run, better results should be obtained. Chief Secretary L Khiangte, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Avinash Kumar, Principal Secretary of Higher Education and Technical Department Rahul Kumar Purwar, Secretary to Chief Minister Arwa Rajkamal, Director Higher Education Ramniwas Yadav, Director Technical Education Sunil Kumar, Executive Director of Jharkhand State Building Construction Corporation Sanjay Kujur and General Manager Avinash Kumar Deepak, HDFC Bank Jharkhand Zonal Head Abhishek Kumar, Cluster Head Ranchi Dharmendra Kumar, Government Banking Head Navneet Gandhi and other officers were present in this meeting.
