Bokaro Steel Plant Holds Safety Apex Committee Meeting

On July 11, a Safety Apex Committee meeting was held in the conference room of the Director In-Charges office at Bokaro Steel Plant, presided over by  Birendra Kumar Tiwari, Director In-Charge. The meeting saw participation from  Suresh Rangani, Executive Director (Finance & Accounts), Jaydeep Dasgupta, Executive Director (Mines), and various Chief General Managers, Heads of Departments, and departmental safety officers.   During the meeting, Kumar Rajneesh, Assistant General Manager (Safety & Fire Services), provided a comprehensive presentation on the implementation of various safety-related activities. Detailed discussions were held on the safety initiatives undertaken during the first quarter of the financial year 2024-25.   Additionally, the status of various elements associated with the Kavach Portal and plant safety was reviewed. Emphasis was placed on organizing more training programs related to plant safety. The completion of audits for all contractors under the Contractor Safety Management was also stressed. DIC Tiwari instructed all Chief General Managers and Heads of Departments to ensure the reporting of near-miss incidents within their respective departments. All attendees reaffirmed their commitment to adhering to safety regulations.   The meeting underscored the importance of continuous improvement and innovation in safety management practices, presenting a forward roadmap and suggestions to guide the plant towards a safer working environment.
