Met Department issued yellow alert for heavy rain

Heavy rain occured at many places in Jharkhand on Monday. There is also a possibility of thunderstorm.  A yellow alert of rain and thunderstorm has been issued by the Meteorological Center in many places including Ranchi. The Meteorological Department has said that the monsoon turf in Jharkhand is passing through Ranchi via Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. A cyclonic circulation is formed in the Bay of Bengal. Its effect can remain for the next two-three days. Monsoon will again remain weak in entire Jharkhand from Monday for the next five days. The Meteorological Department also informed that there are chances of light rain or drizzle with thunder, thunderstorm at some places till July 19. In such a situation, farmers engaged in Kharif crop cultivation may face problems in planting seedlings. However, monsoon can pick up pace again from July 20. Abhishek Anand, scientist of the Meteorological Center located in Ranchi, said that an area of cyclonic circulation is formed in Ranchi, which is moving towards the Bay of Bengal while moving towards the southeast. He said that there is no possibility of any major change in the maximum temperature in the State for the next five days. The temperature has come down after rain in Ranchi, Chatra, Lohardaga and Pakur and other districts, he added. Sahibganj received the highest rainfall in the last 24 hours. Around 95 mm of rain fall in Borio block of Sahibganj. At the same time, 86 mm of rain fall in Hazaribagh, 71 in Latehar, 70 in Balumath and around 20 mm in Ranchi. Heavy rain fall in many parts of the capital for more than two hours on Sunday afternoon.
