In the ED investigation, the documents related to the claim on 133.64 acres of land in Bokaro have been found to be fake. Izhar Hussain and Akhtar Hussain had claimed that this land was bought by their ancestors in an auction during the British Raj. Out of this, more than 74 acres of land has been sold so far. During the investigation conducted by the district administration, a written notice was given about the absence of documents related to the auction in the registry office located in Purulia. Izhar Hussain had resorted to two documents to present his claim on the land of Chas region of Bokaro district. The first document in this is Deed No. 191 issued from the Registry Office located in Purulia and the second document is the will of Sameer Mahato. It has been mentioned in the Sale Deed No. 191 issued from the Purulia Registry Office that Sameer Mahato bought this 133.64 acres of land of Tetulia in an auction in the year 1933. In the year 2010, it has been mentioned in the will of Sameer Mahato that Sameer Mahato decided to give 133.64 acres of land bought in auction to his unemployed grandsons Izhar Hussain and Akhtar Hussain. Izhar Hussain presented his claim on the land with the help of this document. The then zonal officer of Chas, Nirmal Toppo, accepted it and mutated the land in the name of Izhar and Akhtar Hussain. Nirmal Toppo has been dismissed on the charge of this irregularity. During the investigation of this land scam in Bokaro district, ED raided the hideouts of those who bought and sold the land as well as those who funded the purchase of land. During the raid, Rs 1.30 crore was seized from the hideout of Bir Agarwal of Banka. It was confirmed that funds were provided to the director of Rajbir Construction for the purchase of land. Apart from the raid, ED conducted a survey in the registry office in Kolkata using the powers given under section 16 of PMLA to investigate the document related to the claim of Izhar Hussain. From the documents seized during the survey and questioning of officials, Deed No. 191 issued in 1933 from Purulia Registry Office was found to be fake.
