Three arrested with brown sugar

Gumla police has taken a big action against brown sugar smuggling and arrested three smugglers including the mastermind of this illegal business. A huge amount of brown sugar, weapons, two cars and mobile phones have been recovered from the arrested accused. The police got this success on the basis of secret information. Giving information, Gumla SDPO Suresh Prasad Yadav said that SP Shambhu Kumar Singh had received information that a consignment of brown sugar was being brought to Gumla from Garhwa. After this, a joint team of Ghaghra and Sadar police station conducted a raid under the leadership of Sadar police station in-charge Surendra Kumar Singh. During the raid, two vehicles were stopped near Kharka Baki river on Gumla-Ghaghra main road. On searching, Pintu Kumar, a resident of Garhwa and Vikas Kumar Singh and Rishav Sahu, residents of Gumla, were arrested. 350 grams of brown sugar, a country-made pistol, four live cartridges, two cars and five mobile phones were recovered from them. The SDPO said that this gang was supplying about two kg of brown sugar in Gumla every month, due to which the youth of the area were falling prey to drugs. He said that this arrest will prove to be a milestone in breaking this illegal network. Sadar police station in-charge Surendra Kumar Singh said that on the instructions of SP Shambhu Kumar Singh, a campaign against drugs is being continuously run in the district. The police is now conducting further raids based on the information received from the arrested smugglers.
